Wheaton’s Gary UMC begins new sermon series on ‘Expansive Faith’
For the next four Sundays during worship, Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton, will focus on “Expansive Faith.”
Pastors will reflect on the expansive view of faith, examining the concepts of self, community, creation and cosmos. Scripture readings will include the Gospel of Matthew.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, the Rev. Daniel Cochran will kick off the series during 9 a.m. worship.
The Rev. Chris Pierson will preach on Sundays, Aug. 11 and 25, at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, Aug. 18, the church will move worship outside to Memorial Park, 225 Karlskoga in Wheaton, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Cochran reflecting on creation.
The church offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship, complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.” The church will resume its 10 a.m. Sunday school hour for all ages and 11:11 a.m. worship on Sept. 8.
