Music, food and fun headline Vernon Hills Days

A multitude of food offerings from local restaurants, a beer tent, live music acts and a carnival were part of the fun Friday at Vernon Hills Days at Century Park.

Alt 101, a Chicago-area 90s rock tribute band, led off the concert schedule, playing hits from bands including Sublime, No Doubt, Nirvana, Alanis Morissette Green Day and Weezer.

Kid-friendly fun was available under the big tent on Saturday and Sunday, including crafts, face painting, and a balloon animal artist. In addition, there was a kids game show on Saturday and a petting zoo Sunday.
