Wheaton city council hopefuls to gather nominating petitions

Prospective candidates for seats on the Wheaton City Council soon will start circulating nominating petitions to run in next spring’s municipal elections.

Beginning Tuesday, July 30, the petitions for candidacy will be available in the city clerk’s office in Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St.

Four seats representing the city’s north, south, east and west districts will be up for election on April 1, 2025. If more than four candidates file for each district position, a primary election will be held on Feb. 25.

Candidates must submit their petitions with the city clerk during the filing period from Oct. 21 through 28, excluding weekend days and holidays.

For details, contact the city clerk’s office at (630) 260-2012.
