Camp I Am Me Golf Classic on Sept. 24 support youth burn survivors

Mount Prospect-based nonprofit Camp I Am Me by Illinois Fire Safety Alliance will host its fourth annual Golf Classic Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Chevy Chase Country Club, 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling.

Golfers are invited to gather a foursome and register. Individuals are welcome too and will be placed with a foursome.

Proceeds from this event will help support youth burn survivors from the Chicago area and across Illinois.

“The Golf Classic continues to grow in size as the event annually adds additional contests, activities, and raffles to keep golfers coming back,” said Philip Zaleski, Camp I Am Me executive director. “Last year’s event raised more than $20,000 to support our youth burn survivor family, a community that needs a support group to help guide assist them as they recover both physically and mentally from their injuries.”

The schedule includes check-in and lunch at 11 a.m., shotgun start at noon, and a concluding program immediately after golf, featuring prizes, raffles, and a buffet dinner.

The registration fee is $500 for a foursome or $150 for a single golfer. To register, visit www.IFSA.org/golfclassic. Payment is due by Sept. 17.

Camp I Am Me by Illinois Fire Safety Alliance provides free programs throughout the year to children, adults, and families that have been affected by burn-related injuries, providing them the much needed physical, psychological, and emotional support they deserve.

“Camp I Am Me brings support, strength, and happiness to so many children, adults, and families each year,” Zaleski said. “With the support of hundreds of volunteers and supporters, we are proud to offer more than two dozen programs to survivors throughout the year and across the state.”
