Fox River Grove receives GFOA’s financial reporting award for fourth consecutive year

The village of Fox River Grove recently received a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2023.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that the village has received this award, recognizing its commitment to excellence in financial transparency and accountability.

The certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The award is presented to government units whose annual financial reports adhere to program standards and represent the highest award in government financial reporting.

An impartial panel evaluated the village’s report and confirmed it meets the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

Village President Marc McLaughlin commended the village’s staff for their hard work and dedication in achieving this significant milestone.

“This award reflects the professionalism and commitment of our village staff in maintaining the highest standards of financial reporting,” McLaughlin said. “It is a testament to our ongoing efforts to promote transparency and fiscal responsibility in our operations. Receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year is a remarkable accomplishment, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.”
