Geneva Garden Club beautifies Marklund campus

The backyard patios at the Marklund Hyde Center campus in Geneva have been transformed into vibrant floral havens, thanks to the Geneva Garden Club and some residents with green thumbs who joined in.

“A big thanks to the men and women who gave of their time and talents who volunteered to beautify our outdoor space,” said Nikki Osterloh, manager of volunteer engagement.

“And a shoutout to the Geneva Community High School Horticulture Club for donating supplies to make this project even more amazing!,” Osterloh said.

Marklund is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

It has three residential locations: Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin.

Marklund has launched a campaign to raise $100,000 for the expansion and renovation project currently underway at Marklund’s Wasmond Center in Elgin. This project will help modernize the facility to better serve residents, students and clients, while expanding to serve even more children and adults with developmental disabilities into the future.

From now until June 30, an anonymous donor will help reach and double the goal by matching every Project WOW donation, up to $100,000. To donate or learn more about the “Walls of Wasmond” campaign, go to p2p.onecause.com/wallsofwasmond.
