Wheaton church hosting events supporting local organizations

On Sunday, June 2, Pastor Ron Beauchamp will preach on “Speak, Lord” at the 10 a.m. service at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1771 S. Wiesbrook Road in Wheaton.

So young Samuel must learn to listen for God's voice. He needs doddering old Eli's help to finally hear the God who has tried three times to speak to him in the night. Samuel needs his mentor to teach him to say: “Speak, for your servant is listening.” Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18 and 1 Samuel 3:1-10, (11-20)

The next “Little Red Truck” collection for Wheaton’s Peoples Resource Center will be on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. School supplies are especially requested.

On Saturday, May 18, Hope Church hosted a pop-up clothing distribution to PRC clients. Using the church facilities, the Peoples Resource Center served 224 needy individuals representing 55 families. We have neighbors in need, so we need to help!

On Friday, May 24, Hope Church hosted about 350 parents and children for an early morning, last-day-of-school, ice cream sundae bar, staffed by the parents of Wiesbrook Elementary School next door. What a joy to see all those excited kids!

Looking ahead a bit, Hope Church will have a cruise night on Friday, July 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the church. All types of collector cars — antique, classic, sports, hot rods, muscle, etc. — will be on display for the public to enjoy. Owners will show off their rides and answer questions. A food truck will be on-site.

The event is free and no preregistration is required — just come and enjoy. For more information, visit www.hopepresbyterian.org, call (630)-668-7750 or follow facebook.com/hopepresbyterianchurchwheatonillinois.
