Fox Lake Memorial Day activities
Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary Unit #703 and junior members will hand out poppies near local businesses Friday and Saturday to support disabled and hospitalized veterans and active-duty military personnel.
On Monday, May 27, a public ceremony will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Grand Avenue and Nippersink Boulevard in downtown Fox Lake. It will include the family of four organizations: American Legion; Sons of the American Legion; Riders of the American Legion; and the Auxiliary.
Flags will be presented, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, Chaplain’s prayer; and speeches by Commander Robert “Gabe” Gabriel and Fox Lake Mayor Donny Schmit ending with a rifle salute and Taps.
