Wheaton’s Gary UMC recognizes graduates

On Sunday, June 2, Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will celebrate high school graduates with afghans knitted by church members at 9 a.m.

Graduates also will receive Dr. Suess’s book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” signed by church members. All students will celebrate “Step Up Sunday,” when kids “step up” to the next grade.

The church at 224 N. Main St. offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship, starting June 2. The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.” Gary Church will resume its 10 a.m. Sunday school hour for all ages and 11 a.m. worship on Sunday, Sept. 8.

With deep roots in the community since 1853, the church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
