Mundelein-Vernon Hills Rotary Awards $20,000 in Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills recently awarded $20,000 in college scholarships to 10 college-bound seniors from Mundelein and Vernon Hills. Scholarships were awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service and financial need. Over the past 14 years, the club has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to students from Mundelein and Vernon Hills.
"We honor the outstanding accomplishments of these remarkable students, both academically and in their dedication to serving others within our community," club president Ken Kelting said. "In each of these students, we see a shining example of Rotary's enduring principle of 'Service Above Self.'"
Scholarship recipients include Alexandra Georgieva of Stevenson High School; Teagan Lai, Amelie Bledea, Sarah Besser and Naiya Bass of Vernon Hills High School; and Alexandra Zitser, Annalie Salski, Yevheniia Surzhko, Max Dunlap and Karina Benes of Mundelein High School.
