City of Batavia and local SAR/DAR chapter to dedicate Liberty Tree at Flag Day Monument

The Daughters of the American Revolution Elias Kent Kane Chapter and the Sons of the American Revolution Fox Valley Chapter invite the community for a special Flag Day celebration.

Join them for the Liberty Tree dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Flag Day Monument, located downtown along the Batavia Riverwalk. Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke will be speaking at this event.

Marty Callahan, a board member of the Flag Day Monument, conveyed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, noting, "The Liberty Tree dedication ceremony holds great significance as we mark the upcoming of America’s 250th anniversary of Independence. This event provides a meaningful opportunity to contemplate the core values of freedom and democracy upon which our nation was built, as well as the significance of the Liberty Tree as a symbol within our community."

Join the Elias Kent Kane Chapter DAR and the Fox Valley Chapter of SAR as they come together to honor our nation’s history and the events that led to the establishment of our great nation.
