Voices Unlimited chorus presents their spring concert May 19

The Voices Unlimited chorus will be presenting their spring concert, “Reflections of Hope,” on Sunday, May 19, in the sanctuary of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main St. in East Dundee.

Under the direction of founder and director David Barth, the first notes of the concert will sound at 3 p.m.

In selecting music for the concert, Barth notes that “Hope runs continuously through the music’s lyrics.” Further, he notes that, “It’s hope that connects us to each other. When we share our hopes and dreams, we create a web of support and encouragement. It’s a reminder that we’re not alone in our struggles.”

Comprised of both well-known and popular sacred and secular songs, the concert maintains Barth’s belief that “It’s important the audience recognizes and can associate with the songs we will be singing.”

Among the hourlong concert selections will be “How Great Thou Art,” “Over the Rainbow,” “What a Wonderful World,” a full medley of songs from “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and additional selections that will follow the same theme of familiarity: “Songs with the touch of hope in their lyrics,” Barth said.

Tickets are $10 or $5 for children under the age of 12. Tickets are available by emailing, calling (630) 707-1221 or mailing your request to Voices Unlimited, 3871 Crooked Creek Drive, Elgin, IL 60124. Cash, checks and Zelle are all acceptable. Checks should be made payable to Voices Unlimited.

Tickets also will be available at the door. Parking in the church’s multiple lots is plentiful and the main doors located on the south side of the church will open at 2:30 p.m.
