Learn about the Warrenville public works department at May 23 open house

The city of Warrenville invites the public to attend its public works open house on Thursday, May 23.

It will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at public works, 3S346 Mignin Drive, Warrenville.

Highlights include learning what public works does; exploring big equipment; meeting the staff; enjoying refreshments, as well as free giveaways and more.

The department will hold a food drive May 1-23 for nonperishable food and household items that will be donated to a local food bank.

Donation suggestions include: canned tuna, corn, black beans, refried beans, corn and fruit; mac and cheese; pasta; peanut butter; rice; cereal; size 6 diapers; baby wipes; adult diapers (any size); and feminine hygiene products.

Drop off items in May at the public works building, or bring a donation to the open house.
