Schaumburg Police Department awarded national accreditation for 11th time

The Schaumburg Police Department recently received its 11th national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) for meeting the highest professional standards of public safety.

CALEA’s accreditation programs aims to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence.

The Schaumburg Police Department initially was accredited in 1986, becoming the first police agency in Illinois to earn the distinction.

“I am immensely proud of our department's achievement in receiving this distinguished accreditation, reaffirming our commitment to upholding the highest professional standards in public safety,” Police Chief Bill Wolf said. “This accreditation serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of our team, as we continue to prioritize excellence in serving and protecting our community.”
