Man pepper-sprayed, beaten in Park Ridge robbery

Park Ridge police are seeking two men who robbed, pepper-sprayed and beat a person at knifepoint early Tuesday morning in an underground parking garage.

Police said the robbers, both wearing ski masks, approached the male victim at about 1:07 a.m. in the 0-100 block of North Summit Avenue.

One of the offenders sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray, then both struck him multiple times in the head until he fell to the ground, police said. The offenders then took the victim’s wallet, according to police.

The victim told officers he was able to get up and run from the area when he saw a light gray-colored sedan chasing him before driving away from the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital by Park Ridge paramedics for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Park Ridge Police Department at (847) 318-5256.
