Pilgrimage to Peace tour coming to Wheaton’s Gary UMC on April 25

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton will be a stop on the Pilgrimage to Peace tour on Thursday, April 25.

This nationwide tour facilitates conversation about peace-building and advocacy related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Gary’s Church and Society Committee is hosting the Churches for Middle East Peace’s Pilgrimage to Peace tour, and all are welcome. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, 224 N. Main St.

Speakers will be the Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon, executive director of Churches for Middle East Peace and Jonathan Kuttab, co-founder of the Palestinian human rights group Al-Haq and co-founder of Nonviolence International.

The church offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary. The 9 a.m. worship is complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at The 11 a.m. worship has a more casual feel featuring church musicians.

At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend” plus Sunday school for all ages.
