Chicago Bears announce the fifth 2024 Community High School All-Star Award winner

The Chicago Bears proudly announce Sajjad Hussain, a senior student-athlete from Wauconda High School in Wauconda, as the fifth recipient of the 2024 Community High School All-Star award. This award, sponsored by Athletico Physical Therapy, recognizes nine high school football players from March through May who make a positive impact in their communities and schools.

Throughout his high school career, Hussain has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving his community and contributing positively to his school environment. He has been actively engaged in organizing Meals for All, a program that provides monthly dinners for underprivileged individuals and seniors at the American Legion from his local neighborhood. By coordinating with local Wauconda restaurants, Hussain ensures that those in need have access to warm meals and companionship.

In addition to his efforts with Meals for All, Hussain participates in Adopt a Highway, where he and his football team pick up litter along a nearby highway, contributing to the cleanliness of his local area. He also volunteers with Operation Christmas Child in Aurora, where he assists in packaging gifts destined for underprivileged students in third-world countries, spreading joy and hope during the holiday season.

Hussain’s dedication to community service extends to youth development, as he coaches young football players at the Wauconda Football Youth Camp, sharing his passion for the sport and mentoring future athletes.

His leadership roles within his school’s organizations also highlight his commitment to serving other students. As the vice-president of the Future Business Leaders of America chapter and president of the National Honor Society, Hussain demonstrates his ability to lead and inspire his peers to excel academically. Additionally, he plays a crucial role as a TRUST leader, supporting underclassmen and promoting mental and emotional well-being within his school community.

On the football field, Hussain’s hard work and dedication have earned him a starting role for his senior season. In the classroom, he maintains a strong 4.5 GPA, taking academics seriously as he prepares for higher education after high school.

Each Community High School All-Star award recipient will receive a custom hand-painted football, gift bag and an invitation to a future Chicago Bears event. Additionally, the Chicago Bears will make a $500 donation to the charitable organization of the player’s choosing.

The Chicago Bears are proud to partner with Athletico Physical Therapy to present the Chicago Bears Community High School All-Star Award that recognizes high school football and girls flag football players who make a positive impact in their community and school. These student-athletes exemplify service, leadership and character. The Chicago Bears Community High School All-Star is an off-season initiative that encourages student-athletes to be involved in community service during offseason, and take the lessons learned through playing the sport of football and use them to benefit their community.
