A customer at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines reported someone stole a gambling voucher worth $2,200 last week at the venue.

The theft occurred about 11 a.m. Thursday.

The customer briefly stepped away from a redemption machine after inserting the voucher, police said. While the customer was away from the machine, a man wearing a green coat and black pants used the machine, collected the money and left, police said.

Upon returning to the machine, the customer discovered the ticket had been redeemed.
