Flowers coming into bloom in late April for Midwest Tulip Fest
The Midwest Tulip Fest is set to open April 27 at Kuipers Family Farm on Watson Road in Maple Park.
Over the past few years, they have planted nearly 500,000 tulip bulbs across seven acres of the farm. These flowers, dormant all winter, pop up in the spring to bring a vibrant mixture of colors to the farm. Mother Nature tells the flowers when to bloom, so keep an eye on the "bloom-o-meter" to find the perfect time to visit.
The flower fields are fully accessible for strolling and taking those perfect pictures. There also are specific fields set aside for you to cut and purchase your own tulips.
Not only is the tulip field ready for your visit, but this is also a great time to enjoy the warm weather and outdoor activities!
Admission to the Midwest Tulip Fest also includes access to some featured attractions on the FunFarm. On the weekends come enjoy some live music, and grab a bite from one of the food options. G’s Smokehouse & Grill is located in the Farmyard Pavillion.
You also can enjoy a romantic evening in the tulips with "Date Night on the Farm" on Friday, May 3.
The Midwest Tulip Festival will be April 27 to May 19. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Advance admission is $15.99 weekdays or $17.99 on weekends. It is an additional $2 at the gate. Age 2 or younger are admitted free. U-Cut tulips are not included in this admission price.
