Gary UMC’s Maundy Thursday worship to include hand-washing

At Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton, Maundy Thursday, March 28, will begin with a simple meal at 5:30 p.m. and then continue with an interactive worship service at 6 p.m.

Families with young children will enjoy a special reflection time with Pastor Carey Williams Bebar before joining the congregation for hand-washing and Holy Communion.

Holy Week worship includes Palm Sunday, March 24, at 9 and 11 a.m.; Maundy Thursday starting with a meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by worship at 6 p.m.; Good Friday at 7 p.m.; and Easter Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m.

The church at 224 N. Main St., offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary. The 9 a.m. worship is complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org.

The 11 a.m. worship has a more casual feel featuring church musicians. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend” and Sunday school for all ages.
