Sun shines on Arlington Heights egg hunt

Children quickly filled their Easter baskets with plastic eggs containing candy and prizes during an egg hunt at the Arlington Heights Historical Society Saturday.

Maggie Sraga, operations manager for the Arlington Heights Historical Society, said around 400 kids were expected to participate in the event, which was held in four time slots between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each child was able to pick up 15 eggs.

She said volunteers filled the thousands of eggs needed for the event.

“There was a lot of egg stuffing. We're very thankful for all the volunteers who stuffed these eggs for the kids,” Sraga said.

Another concern was the weather, since it snowed on Friday. Though it was still chilly, the sun did come out Saturday, much to the relief of event organizers.

“It's really nice to see families out on the museum grounds,” Sraga said. We always love when families come to visit.”
