Lake County gets $1.9 million for public works projects

Lake County will receive more than $1.9 million in federal funding toward two water-related public works projects. The community project funding is part of a federal initiative signed into law March 9. The money will be split between two projects. The Idlewild and Dady & Decker project involves replacing 10,000 feet of water main pipe in unincorporated Grayslake. Total estimated cost is $2.5 million. The New Century Town water reclamation facility project in Vernon Hills involves replacing three filters that have reached the end of their useful life with a modern system and associated improvements. Total cost is $5 million. Both projects are tentatively scheduled for 2026.
