Windy City Bulls cruise past Grand Rapids Gold at home
The Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Grand Rapids Gold 116-95 Thursday night. Windy City was led by Chicago Bulls two-way forward Adama Sanogo with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds.
Forward Ben Coupet Jr. finished with 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field for the Bulls. Windy City guards Jacob Young and Jalen Harris chipped in 15 points each.
Windy City shot 50 percent from the 3-point line in the first quarter, taking a 28-21 lead. Sanogo shot 60 percent from the field in the first half, scoring 12 points and helping the Bulls to a 7-point lead at halftime.
Windy City outscored Grand Rapids 36-22 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 21 heading into the final 12 minutes. The Bulls shot 50 percent from the field and 43.6 percent from the three-point line in the 21-point win.
Grand Rapids was led by Denver Nuggets assignment forward Hunter Tyson with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Denver Nuggets two-way forward Braxton Key finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
With the win, Windy City improved to 13-15 in the regular season, Grand Rapids fell to 11-17.
