Man charged in connection to multiple thefts from Bartlett smoke shop

A Streamwood man was charged Monday with felony retail theft alleging he stole various items on multiple occasions from a smoking and vaping business in Bartlett.

Montreal Almond, 21, was arrested at about 4 p.m. Monday at the business in the 100 block of East Lake Street after police were called for a report of retail theft.

Bartlett police said their investigation led to an accusation that Almond had knowingly taken $2,200 in merchandise from the business on different occasions without attempting to pay for them.

Almond was released pending his next court appearance at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
