Happy 100th birthday Ester

Ester Evans Fugiel of Long Grove turns 100 on March 15, 2024.

She is first generation in the United States after her parents came from Italy. At an early age, her mother was left to support three children. Ester and her family had little money but founds ways to support themselves.

She met her husband at age 20 and traveled with him during his many years in the aviation service. They were married 47 years until his death.

Ester worked in the private sector but mother was her most important job. She raised two daughters, always cooking, baking and sewing to help others. She also spent a lot of time helping raise her three grandchildren.

She is presently enjoying life at an assisted living facility where she partakes in games and entertainment with her new friends.
