Local Northwestern Mutual wealth management adviser presents grant to EB Research Partnership

Today, Kyle Smith, principal and wealth management adviser at Northwestern Mutual’s Freund & Smith Advisors, presented a $4,000 grant to Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership (EBRP), awarded by the Million Dollar Roundtable Foundation (MDRT). EBRP is committed to finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a genetic disorder that affects the body’s largest organ — the skin.

Smith learned about EBRP through one of his clients, Jeff Heddles. Smith worked with EBRP to submit a grant application to the MDRT Foundation, an organization created to provide MDRT members with a means to give back to their communities. After learning the grant was awarded to EBRP, Smith was thrilled to present the award check to Heddles, a full circle moment as Heddles is the person that initially connected him with the organization.
