Elburn woman identified as victim of I-88 crash
The Kane County Coroner’s Office has announced the identity of a woman killed Monday on I-88 in Kane County.
The woman was 52-year-old Laura Rudow of Elburn.
An automobile and a pickup truck collided near mile marker 102, near Maple Park, according to the coroner’s news release.
The cause of Rudow’s death is pending investigation. Toxicology samples have been sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.
Illinois State Police investigated a crash at 5:19 a.m., where a vehicle was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes in heavy fog. The driver died, police said. The other driver was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
According to her obituary, Rudow played softball and volleyball when she attended Kaneland High School and worked for almost 30 years for Truxes Co., a sign-making firm in Oswego. She was a member of Kaneville United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sisters, two nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
