Prospect Heights Elementary District 23’s recent Heritage Night event gave students, families and staff a chance to share their ethnic traditions and learn about different cultures.
It was held on Feb. 21 at MacArthur Middle School in Prospect Heights.
Participants displayed items that represented their heritage — food, music, clothing, artwork, even performances.
Students, families and staff from all four District 23 schools — Anne Sullivan Elementary, Betsy Ross Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, and MacArthur Middle School — experienced the different stations and traveled around the world all in one night, without even leaving Prospect Heights. The popular event was an opportunity to share similarities and celebrate differences.
District 23 covers portions of Prospect Heights, Wheeling, Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect.
