Cocktail bracelet pairs two local businesses

Wyckwood House, 80 S. River St. in Aurora, will partner with Crystal Ship Jewelry on a special cocktail bracelet launch on Saturday, April 13.

The launch will start at 5 p.m. The evening also will kick off the new “people behind the clothes” series at the retail boutique.

“A big part of Wyckwood House is the story of how we started, so taking the opportunity to share the stories of our makers is impactful for me,” said Shannon Gutierrez, owner and founder of Wyckwood House with stores in Aurora and Wheaton.

Gutierrez welcomed Shannon Maraffa, owner of Crystal Ship Jewelry, to sell curated pieces of her handmade jewelry at Wyckwood House a few years ago.

Maraffa started her jewelry business almost a decade ago with repurposed vintage pieces. She then began making the handmade bracelets, necklaces, and earrings that she popularly sells at local markets.

“I’ve always just loved jewelry,” Maraffa said. She added that she enjoys incorporating crystals into her designs which makes the process “meaningful and fun.”

Crystal is also the name of Maraffa’s late mom, who shared a passion for crystals, and the business name has become a way to honor her.

Maraffa’s specialty is bracelets, and she based the Wyckwood House cocktail bracelet on their signature pink cocktail “The Wyckwood.”

The exclusive cocktail bracelet will be available only at Wyckwood House until it is sold out.
