Felines and fanciers converge at Lincoln State Cat Show in Wheaton

The Lincoln State Cat Club’s 62nd annual benefit show drew hundreds of cat fanciers to the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton Saturday.

The event features at least 180 pedigreed and household pet cats being judged in 10 rings, along vendors of cat-related products, a cat food drive, and local rescue and shelter cats available for adoption. The show includes cats visitors can pet, speakers discussing all things feline, and a kids’ stuffed animal contest at noon.

The show continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 60 and older and kids 6-11, free for kids 5 and younger, or $40 for a family four-pack of two adults and two children. The DuPage County Fairgrounds is at 2015 Manchester Road.

The show is sanctioned by the Cat Fanciers’ Association, the world’s largest registry of purebred cats.
