A call for the arts for Fox River Arts Ramble 2024

The Fox River Arts Ramble team, headed by Fine Line Creative Arts Center, is looking for nonprofit and for-profit artists and arts organizations in towns located on the Fox Valley River from Aurora to Elgin to participate in this year’s Ramble.

The event started seven years ago as a way to promote the arts and culture in the Fox River Valley.

“The Fox River Valley from Aurora to Elgin is rich in the arts, with galleries, theaters, art centers and individual artists who call the Fox Valley their home,” said Lynn Caldwell, executive director of Fine Line Creative Arts Center. “This is an opportunity to showcase the arts to people in our community and beyond.”

This year’s Ramble will take place on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are two ways to participate:

• Opening up your space to the public, if it’s in a town on the Fox Valley River from Aurora to Elgin.

• As a visual artist with a tent at Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles.

Using your space

If you own an art gallery, public art studio, arts center, theater or similar, you can participate by opening your space to members of the public on Saturday, June 8.

It’s a chance to have visitors who may not ordinarily visit your space and hopefully gain new customers. Artists wishing to open their home studios are also invited to participate.

Members of the public are always interested in seeing how art is created as well as purchasing art.

Your home studio must be in a town located on the Fox Valley River from Aurora to Elgin and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to participate in this event.

At the Fine Line

If you are an artist without a home studio that can be opened to the public or not in the Fox Valley area, you can still be part of the event.

The Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles is offering artists who wish to sell their art, tent spaces at their location. You must provide your own 10-foot x 10-foot artist tent and be responsible for your sales.

A nonrefundable $100 fee applies to all participants. The deadline to receive applications is Monday, April 15.

You can find information and the application on the Fox River Arts Ramble website at www.foxriverarts.com.
