Man gets 13 years in prison for selling fentanyl that killed Addison woman
A man was sentenced Thursday to 13 years in prison for supplying the narcotic fentanyl that killed an Addison woman.
Courvoisier Thomas, 40, of the 1300 block of Modaff Drive in Naperville, will have to serve at least 75% of his sentence before being eligible for parole. He received credit for the two years he has been in the DuPage County jail awaiting trial and sentencing.
He pleaded guilty Sept. 27 to drug-induced homicide for the death of 35-year-old Christie Bowers.
She died Nov. 17, 2021, in a residence on Blecke Avenue in Addison.
According to authorities, police officers found small plastic bags of a white powder, which was a fentanyl/fluorofentanyl mixture. The bags were marked with a Harley-Davidson logo. Thomas sold it to her.
Police said Bowers texted Thomas multiple times, including a text earlier that day thanking him for coming to her. They also learned the Joliet Metro Area Narcotics Squad was investigating Thomas. The Joliet agency said Thomas was selling narcotics out of his apartment, with a Harley-Davidson logo, according to a source-of-bail petition prosecutors filed.
