Help an adult communicate in English with Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley

The need for volunteer English language tutors is greater than ever before.

To help meet the need, Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley will host a free tutor training workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, March 11-20, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Each trained volunteer will be matched with one adult learner. Volunteer tutors and their adult learners meet for one hour each week at a time and public location that is convenient, such as public libraries.

Volunteers do not need to know a second language or have teaching experience to be successful. The workshop provides material and instruction so anyone can help.

To register for the workshop, visit www.lvfv.org or call/text (630) 584-4428.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley, first started in 1986, provides free, one-to-one literacy tutoring to adults in St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Elburn, Campton Hills, La Fox, Lily Lake, Wasco and Wayne.

For questions, contact (630) 584-2811 or info@lvfv.org.
