Learn about ‘Women Spies in WWII’ at Glen Ellyn History Center program

On Saturday, March 2, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents historian and author Kit Sergeant in a program featuring her 2020 book, “The Spark of Resistance: Women Spies in WWII.”

The program, “Women Spies in World War II: The Women of the Special Operations Executive,” will begin at 2 p.m. in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

Learn about the adventures of some of the unimaginably brave women who were recruited as spies to infiltrate Occupied France.

These women spies came from all walks of life, and agreed to serve in the French Resistance even though they did not know if they would ever see their families again.

Sergeant describes their adventures in this multimedia presentation.

Admission is $5 or $3 for historical society members and students. For information, call (630) 469-1867 and check the website at gehs.org.
