‘Contemporary Colors’ at Fine Line’s Kavanagh Gallery through March 14

The current show at Fine Line Creative Arts Center’s Kavanagh Gallery in St. Charles is focused on color. The art on the walls and pedestals is rich in vibrant colors, with many abstract art pieces.

“Contemporary Colors” featuring 48 artists around the country is on exhibit at the Kavanagh Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 14.

Connecticut-based artist Sandra Chase’s piece, “Happy Place,” is filled with swirls of color in shades of orange and green.

“Dissilient Eventide” is a fantastic statement piece of wall art from Electra Zolnoksi, a printmaker artist based in Vermont. This abstract monoprint, made with a sugar-lift aqua-tinted nitric acid bath etched zinc plate and cheesecloth, is full of color and movement.

Anne Carman-Hendel has shown work in the Kavanagh Gallery before and has two pieces in this show, “Bermuda Breakout” and “And Nowhere to Go.” Carman-Hendel spent 35 years as an art educator in public schools and works primarily in collage and mixed media. Now retired, she paints and sculpts with paper, integrating discarded items, everyday objects, and repurposing materials. The result is organic, multilayered, and textural artwork.

Like all shows at the Kavanagh Gallery, there is no admission fee. You are invited you to come and take a look. You may even find the right piece that looks great as an original piece of art in your home or business location.

The Fine Line Creative Arts Center is located at 37W570 Bolcum Road, just west of Randall Road in St. Charles.
