Schmaltz Deli celebrating 20th anniversary with new menu and specials, including Ina Pinkney’s Heavenly Hots pancakes

Schmaltz Deli, a beloved cornerstone of the DuPage County culinary scene since 2004, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new delectable breakfast menu, set to surprise, delight, and tantalize taste buds.

Recently named Best Deli and Sandwiches 2023 by readers of the Naperville Sun and Aurora Beacon, Schmaltz Deli, 3011 Ogden Ave. in Lisle, is renowned for its commitment to authentic Jewish deli food and warm hospitality.

In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Schmaltz is excited to expand its breakfast offerings to include some mouthwatering new additions that feature some timeless options and some innovative twists.

The most exciting new menu feature is one that is sure to please Chicago foodies — Ina Pinkney’s famous Heavenly Hots pancakes. Ina Pinkney, famed chef/author/columnist/speaker, also known as the “Breakfast Queen,” was the owner of Ina’s Restaurant in Chicago’s West Loop for decades. She’s also the subject of an award-winning documentary, “Breakfast at Ina’s.”

Schmaltz Deli is proud to exclusively offer the iconic Heavenly Hots pancakes as part of their expanded breakfast offerings. These small, thin sour cream pancakes melt in your mouth and will be served with a warm fruit compote.

Additionally, in honor of Ina’s personal journey as a polio survivor, Schmaltz Deli pledges to donate $1 from every order of Heavenly Hots to End Polio Now.

For those seeking unique versions of classic breakfast items, Schmaltz offers a great variety. This includes their versions of eggs Benedict served on potato latkes, country fried steak and eggs, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, French toast, and deli hash.

Other additions include huevos rancheros, as well as a bialy with sausage gravy. A bialy is a uniquely Jewish bread roll that is similar to a bagel, but baked versus boiled.

Schmaltz also has several vegan and vegetarian breakfast items, including their carrot lox bagel and vegan cream cheese. The new menu promises something for everyone, whether they’re seeking a quick bite on the go or a leisurely morning feast.

Feb. 13 marks the official launch of Schmaltz Deli’s new menu for tableside dine-in service. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

In honor of their 20th anniversary, Schmaltz is offering a 20% discount on weekday breakfast orders (Tuesday through Friday, 8 to 11 a.m.) during the month of February for Tableside Dine-in Customers.
