DuPage Care Center offers support for Alzheimer’s caregivers

The DuPage Care Center is restarting a support group for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s.

Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Care Center, 400 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. The next meeting is set for Wednesday.

The support group is intended to help caregivers develop coping methods and encourage maintenance of their own physical and emotional health while also caring for their loved ones living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

Participants will be able to share their concerns and receive confidential emotional, educational and social support, organizers say.

The Alzheimer’s Association group used to meet regularly, but was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To attend, RSVP to Mike Weisensee at (630) 784-4490 or Heidi Bohan at (630) 784-4240. Masking is required at the county-owned facility.
