Police: Report of weapon Monday at Schaumburg High unfounded
A report of a person with a weapon Monday evening at Schaumburg High School proved unfounded, police said Tuesday.
At about 8 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the school for a report of a person in the building with a possible weapon, officials said. They quickly determined that there was no weapon or safety concern, police said.
There was a disruption to after-school activities as a precautionary measure during the investigation, to ensure student safety, police said.
The police department expressed appreciation for the staff and students’ collaboration during the investigation.
