ComEd outage affecting 56,000 customers in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates fixed in 75 minutes

A power outage that affected approximately 56,000 customers in the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates area at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday was fully restored by 2:25 p.m., ComEd officials said.

A representative said the cause of the outage on the calm, clear day was still being investigated, but it was believed to be an issue with a power line.

Customers were restored in increasing numbers during the 75-minute duration, with only 435 billing addresses the last to be affected before power was returned to everyone, officials said.
