$3 million scratch-off ticket sold at Mount Prospect 7-Eleven

A $3 million winning scratch-off ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Mount Prospect, Illinois Lottery officials said Friday.

The winner, who requested to remain anonymous, is a regular lottery player and customer of the store at 606 W. Northwest Highway. He won the top prize on a 200X Payout instant ticket.

“After scratching the ticket in my truck, I ran back into the store and gave the owner a big hug,” the customer said in a news release. “He scanned the ticket and you should have seen the shocked look on his face!”

He said the winnings come just as he was planning to retire. He and his wife also plan to take a trip to Hawaii and move closer to their daughter, son-in-law and new grandson.

The 7-Eleven store will also get a 1% selling bonus, or $30,000.
