Streamwood Park District announces new recreation superintendents

The Streamwood Park District is pleased to announce Adam Vasquez as the district’s new superintendent of Recreation Services and Jake Larson as the district’s new superintendent of Recreation Programming.

“We’re very excited to have the extensive experience, knowledge and collaborative leadership that both Adam and Jake bring to their respective positions and we look forward to the direction they move our Recreation programs and services now and into the future,” said Executive Director Jeff Janda.

A graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. in recreation and park administration, Vasquez has served as recreation manager for the Streamwood Park District since 2019, where he oversaw athletics, fields, guest services, fitness and aquatics. Prior to his tenure in Streamwood, he worked in several diverse leadership roles in recreation with the Addison Park District and the Wood Dale Park District. Vasquez and his wife Debbie have three children and enjoy bonding over their shared love of cooking and food.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to providing quality and innovative recreation services to the communities I’ve served,” said Vasquez. “In my new role, I’m excited to build on this success. Streamwood Park District is brimming with opportunities, and my aim is to bring in new users who have yet to discover the exceptional offerings it provides.”

Larson’s tenure with Streamwood Park District began 15 years ago when he first served as Athletics coordinator. Since then, he has grown into additional leadership roles, including his most recent position as Recreation manager, where he oversaw many of the district’s sports leagues and athletic programs. Larson studied recreation, sports and tourism at the University of Illinois and is a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

“I’m proud of the recreational activities I’ve provided to the Streamwood community including growing our soccer, volleyball, and basketball programs,” said Larson. “And I am most excited about our newly renovated Community Center.”
