Mike & Joe to headline SALUTE, INC., annual Fundraising Party

Funds raised will benefit military veterans and families

As they kick off their 21st year of meeting the temporary financial needs of military veterans and their families, SALUTE, INC., has lined up a night of fun and friendship for its annual Fundraising Party.

While this time of year brings many fundraising galas for nonprofits, schools and other charitable organizations, SALUTE is deliberate in calling their event a party.

“As a grass-roots organization, our goal is to devote as many of the funds collected directly to the military families we serve,” said SALUTE, INC., Executive Director Mary Beth Beiersdorf. “We are a small community of staff, volunteers, donors and sponsors with the same focus and mission. Eighty-seven percent of every dollar donated funds our programs to support injured veterans and their families.”

The annual Fundraising Party takes place from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Meridian Banquets in Rolling Meadows. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased online at saluteinc.org/getinvolved.

“Our fundraising party features testimonials from families we have assisted,” Beiersdorf said. “It’s a casual event where everyone is part of the SALUTE family. It provides a chance for us to gather around a table where each seat holds a special meaning.”

Beiersdorf noted that the event will feature appetizers, family-style dinner and an open bar.

“We’re also thrilled to welcome back Mike & Joe as headliners. It should be a great night for a great cause.”

SALUTE, INC., based in Palatine, serves the financial needs of military veterans and their families who are seeking to overcome obstacles to physical, mental and emotional treatment. Operating with a small staff of employees and a dedicated group of volunteers, the nonprofit has provided over $7 million in assistance to more than 22,500 families.

“We often provide financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, and other everyday essentials to make sure veterans can take the time they need to enter a treatment program without worry that they won’t have a roof over their head,” Beiersdorf said.

Beiersdorf also promises that anyone attending will leave with a better understanding of why SALUTE’s mission is so important.

“It’s our biggest night of the year. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and to getting to know those who might be new to our mission.”
