Park Ridge woman safely escapes house fire with dogs in tow
A Park Ridge woman safely escaped a house fire late Monday along with her dogs.
Park Ridge firefighters were called to the two-story, single-family home on the 900 block of Hansen Place just before 9 p.m.
Firefighters reported fire showing upon arrival and requested additional support from surrounding departments.
The woman told firefighters she was alerted to the fire by an activated smoke detector and that there was no one else inside the home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters from 12 departments assisted with the fire that investigators believe started in a first-floor bedroom.
Fire damage is estimated at $300,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
