Man gets 30 years in prison for hijacking woman’s car in Downers Grove

A former Chicago man accused of carjacking a woman at her home in Downers Grove was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison.

A jury convicted Martavious Robinson, 21, in June of aggravated vehicular hijacking.

On Nov. 30, 2019, two women were sitting in a vehicle at their home on Prairie Avenue when Robinson carjacked them.

He was one of three men involved in that carjacking, as well as one on Dec. 13, 2019, in Warrenville and another one that day in Downers Grove.

The other two — Emanuel Embry, 23, and Daysean Washington-Davis, 22, both of Chicago — pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular hijacking and were sentenced to 40 years in prison. Washington-Davis has asked to withdraw his plea, however.

Robinson lived in the 6400 block of South Peoria in Chicago.

He has been in the DuPage County jail since his arrest in December 2019.
