Des Plaines man charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child

Glenview police arrested a 24-year-old man Monday afternoon following an investigation into two separate incidents of indecent exposure to minors, authorities said in a news release.

On Jan. 6, a parent reported to police that an unknown offender had exposed himself to their minor child while working at the Glenview Park Center the previous day, police said. The case was assigned to a Glenview Police Department detective for investigation.

While attempting to identify the offender on Jan. 20, police responded to a call from a Glenview Park District employee reporting a man had exposed himself to their minor child while working as a lifeguard at the Glenview Park Center.

Zachary Cortes, of 9822 Bianco Ter., Des Plaines, was taken into custody at that time. The investigation determined Cortes was the same suspect from the previous incident, officials said.

Cortes was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of disorderly conduct, according to police. He was later released with a court date set for March 13 at the Skokie Courthouse.

The Glenview Park District informed police that the man is no longer an employee.
