Pretrial release has been denied for four Chicago residents accused of stealing more than 50 bottles of liquor from a Bloomingdale liquor store and then fleeing police.
Donald Brown, 28, of the 1100 block of North Lockwood Avenue; Terrell Jones, 31, of the 500 block of West Elm Street; Equnne King, 27, of the 100 block of South Lavergne Avenue, are charged with felony burglary and retail theft and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer, according to a news release from the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Jakeiya Brown, 28, of the 1100 block of North Lockwood, is charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer, and misdemeanor and traffic charges, including reckless driving.
Authorities allege that around 9 p.m. Tuesday, a theft was reported at Pick N Go Liquors, 276 Glen Ellyn Road, Bloomingdale. A Bloomingdale officer saw a sedan containing the four defendants, with Jakeiya Brown driving, leaving the scene.
Police pursued, and Jakeiya Brown drove faster than 120 mph, according to the release.
The chase ended in Oak Brook when spiked tire-deflation strips stopped the vehicle.
Donald Brown, Jones and King allegedly ran off.
Officers reported finding the liquor in the car and that it was worth about $4,295.
