Cary-Grove Area Chamber celebrates grand opening of Millie’s Dino Den at Millie’s Playland
The Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration of Millie’s Dino Den, the latest addition to Millie’s Playland, 5186 Northwest Hwy., Suite 130, in Crystal Lake.
Millie’s Playland is part children’s museum, part indoor playground, both focused on imagination.
Named after their 5-year-old daughter Millie, owners Jon and Alicia Magro turned their vision into reality with Millie’s Playland. The story behind this venture is a testament to resilience, love, and the strong support of the community.
In early 2019, Jon was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer. Determined to overcome this formidable challenge for the sake of his wife, Alicia, and their daughter Millie, Jon embarked on a courageous battle against the disease. In September of 2019, Jon received the incredible news of a clean bill of health. The Magro family remains deeply grateful to all those who stood by them during this challenging period.
The mission of Millie’s Playland is not to maximize profit but to serve as an outlet for the Magro family to give back to the community. A portion of any profit generated by Millie’s Playland will be donated to SPOHNC (Support for People with Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer), reflecting their commitment to helping others facing similar challenges.
