West Aurora Unit District 129 partnering with VNA Health Care to open healthcare center

West Aurora Unit District 129 Superintendent Jeff Craig and Linnea Windell, president and CEO of VNA Health Care, recently posted a video announcement that the VNA will be opening a healthcare center at the Jeff Craig Family Resource Center, located at the site of the former Todd School at 100 Oak Ave.

It will be a dedicated place of healthcare support for students from the 19 instructional facilities within the school district. It will offer vital services such as vaccinations, school and sports physicals, illness and injury care, and mental and behavioral health services.

In addition, VNA will offer referrals for services such as family counseling, and vision and dental care. VNA accepts students with or without insurance; no student will be turned away due to inability to pay for services.

Students will be able to get quality, affordable healthcare during the school day, reducing school absences and the need for parents to take time away from work. The center also will provide the opportunity to address food insecurities and other necessities.

Through the power of partnerships, students can get connected to many other community organizations that can assist them and their families. The goal is to remove as many barriers as possible, ensuring students have what they need to focus on their education in the classroom.

The school district and VNA will be sharing more information on how your child can have access to the health center once it opens in the coming months.
