Glenview author releases picture book for kids

Glenview resident and children’s book author to be features at Glenview Public Library Meet and Greet.

Long-time Glenview resident, Michael Dell Barron, will be at the Glenview Public Library from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, showcasing “Dinosaur Uproar!” his new children’s picture book.

Filled with simple rhymes and colorful, whimsical illustrations of dinosaurs counting to 10, all created by Barron, this adorable new book is sure to capture toddlers’ attention and imaginations - becoming a bedtime favorite in no time.

A native of Salt Lake City, Barron attended University of Utah where he majored in fine arts. Upon receiving a job offer as an artist assistant for a major insurance company, he moved to Chicago. Having worked his way up to art director, Barron eventually left to start his own successful freelance graphic design business.

It was the birth of his first grandchild which inspired Barron to channel his talents toward becoming a children’s book author. “Dinosaur Uproar!” is his first endeavor, but more rhymes and illustrations are in the works.

According to Barron, “This was a new and very personal journey for me, and seeing ‘Dinosaur Uproar!’ come to fruition has been hugely gratifying. Being able to read it to my grandson, Callahan, and see him smile gives me such joy. I’m so excited to share it on a greater scale - I sure hope other kids love the book as much as he does.”

Barron is looking forward to his first meet and greet at the Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Road, in Glenview.

“Dinosaur Uproar!” is available in hardcover and as a coloring book, and can be purchased via Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
