Photo contest winners for December
The Daily Herald’s amateur photo contest winners for December included some great scenery as well as some animals ... both wild and domestic.
Our winner of the month is Dee Marsh of Gurnee for her picture postcard-like image of a Colorado barn.
Second place goes to Dave Davis of Inverness who captured a stunning photo of a leopard in Uganda.
Marianne Myrick of Glen Ellyn took third place with her photo from the Illumination light display at Morton Arboretum in Lisle.
The holidays can be tiring, even for pets. Andrew Scherf of Elgin took fourth place with this cute photo of his dog Brooks snoozing while wearing a Santa hat.
Typically we only highlight four winners per month, but we had to give an honorable mention nod to this photo by Louis Ramirez of St. Charles, which makes us wish we were at the beach right now.
